Solid Tech was also present in a few rooms. Their spring-suspended Rack of Silence ably supported high end equipment from DCS, Verity Audio and Arcam, among others.

Of more interest to me however, is the introduction of a new model rack system also incorporating a spring suspension system (as yet unnamed) but at substantially lower cost. The new designs are more conventional looking, with wooden shelves in a choice of colours instead of the x-shaped solid wooden strips that featured prominently in the Rack of Silence. They are modular in nature, enabling you to add on extra shelves as the need arises, and also available with or without spring suspension.

Shunyata Research displayed their full range of top-selling products at the show. This includes their new range of interconnects and speaker cables that incorporate the same patented "matrix" geometry that made their higher range power cords so effective. This range of cables is completely hand-made, using the highest grade CDA 101 copper and cryogenically treated. Expect to see them in our showroom very soon.

The Hydra 8 was also seen in quite a number of rooms, supplying various high end systems with pure unadulterated power

I met Triplanar designer, Dung Tri Mai, and had a good chat with him. He is the man responsible for most of the upgrades seen in the latest version of the arm called the MKV11, a gimbal bearing design with adjustments for virtually every known parameter. A true tweaker's delight!

The Triplanar arm was being demoed in a few analogue setups around the show. Two of those that I remember were with the SOTA Millennium and the Kusma Reference tables. Both setups were extremely musically involving, to the point that I trouble trying to get up to leave the rooms! I had to remind myself that there were plenty of rooms left to cover in a limited time.
