Combak Corporation had a room demoing their full range of Reimyo electronics. New for this year was the CDT-777 top-loading CD transport, meant to be an ideal match for their highly successful DAP-777 digital converter. Rounding off the system was the CAT-777 tube preamp and PAT-777 single-ended power amp driving their Bravo stand-mounted speakers. Power was supplied through their ALS -777 power conditioner and Harmonix Studio Master power cords.

Harmonix interconnects and speaker cables connected everything else together and Harmonix Footers and spike bases provided support for every component, with everything being housed in their Royal Stage hifi rack. Now that is what I call a full system approach! I got to give credit to designer K. Kiuchi for developing a complete system that is capable of reproducing music with the epitome of refinement and poise. During my time in this room, I never heard a note being put out of place and everything had a sense of coherence that is completely addictive! When the music played, I completely forgot the fact that it was just an 8 watt per channel amplifier that was driving a pair of small 2-way speakers, so captivating was the performance!

My best find of the Munich show was definitely the Dr. Feickert Analogue turntables! Acclaimed as one of the foremost experts in the analogue field, Chris Feickert is responsible for the excellent Dr. Feickert setup disk (alignment tool) and also his work in designing the legendary Scheu Premier turntable.

He is now developing some remarkable turntables under his own label that is said to challenge the boundaries of what analogue is capable of achieving. The Twin Turntable made its debut at the show and based on the quality of the design and craftsmanship, I can safely say that it will be the next ‘hot’ thing in the market very soon! You can expect to hear them on demo very shortly in our showroom. It comes in various wood or Black lacquer finishes, and with options for different platter materials.
